Most of us love berries, but it’s no secret that they’re very expensive (especially when they get eaten in .075 seconds from when they come in the door). Here are a few ways to save on berries:

  1. Buy them from the freezer isle. They are significantly cheaper frozen than fresh. It’s a healthy, cold treat all year round. Add the frozen berries to smoothies or yogurt, make syrup, or eat them straight from the bag.

  2. Support a local farmer (go berry picking during the summer for fun), or grocery store and buy in bulk when in season. You can preserve them by freezing them (freeze on a baking sheet before putting them into a bag so they don’t stick together), making jam, freeze drying or dehydrating them into fruit leather or bite-sized pieces. We love to save as many as we can for fresh eating though :)

  3. Grow your own! Get a mini greenhouse for around $25 for fresh berries all year round. You can grow many berry varieties from store bought fruits. Do a little research

  4. Make them last longer with a water/vinegar solution in your salad spinner (spinner is optional). Here’s a simple video explaining how
